Comments: This afternoon the hubby says “lets go for a bike ride, we need some pop”. So we drag the bikes out of the shed, the pull-behind out of the barn, clean everything off (the point is “we don’t ride our bikes often!) and we are a go on the road. Our nearest gas station is about 8 minutes away by car (yep, cow country), but by bike it took us (hubby, who pulled the 6 year old, Tori), Jenny, and I about 45 minutes (one way)! π On the way back all of us, minus Tori had sore rears! Now (7 hours later) my legs are killing me and I am thinking about skipping my workout tomorrow (today was suppose to be my rest day!) But we all agreed that we need to do this more often, but my rear tells me I’ll have to wait a week before I can strap it back onto the bike seat! π

The “sore rear” problem is tough–bike shorts help.
For the tri, I train the total distance (or more) for all three sports, but I don’t put them all together until race day. For the marathon, I have only ever trained up to 20 miles.
Thanks for the kind words!
