August Recap

31 Aug

Here are my marathon training numbers for the month of August:

August ’07

Running: 110.91 Elliptical: 32.72 Biking: 5.9 Total: 149.53 Scheduled: 157

 July’s number for comparison:

July ’07

Running: 55.13* Elliptical: 14.51 Biking: 59.22 Total: 128.86 Scheduled: 142

*My running miles were much lower in July due to piriformis syndrome.

August’s mileage is the most I have ever run in my life in a month! (I ran 80 miles in June) Overall not too shabby.

September is going to show what my body and mind is made of with an 18, 20, and 22 mile run all packed in that month, not to mention the weekday runs are increasing in length as well.

With the season turning towards fall I am hoping that it will bring cooler weather and make the runs more enjoyable.

I’m surprised at the 22. Most programs for new/casual marathoners only go up to 20. I know you’re up to it!

Even the beginner program goes to 22 on that day. I am following the “not quite a beginner” program. Mentally I need to go at least past 20 once. I am very worried about hitting the wall at that time, and knowing that I have run further than that should help me. (Or so I hope!)

Thanks for your vote of confidence! 🙂

Great totals! It’s great when you add up all the miles and see where you’ve run to! Congrats and here’s to a strong September!

Holy begeezers… 100+ miles in a month is a ton of running. The most I’ve ran in a month was 95, and I haven’t really come close to that in any other month. Keep up the great running! I know you’ll be prepared if you are running that much…

    Hey
Thanks for checking out my blog. It looks like you have put in some really hard work. If you can do all 3 of those long runs in the same month, you will be more than ready. That is the kind of insanity that I am known for……
