Comments: I did it! Slower than I had hoped, but I did it! I ran 6 miles out, came back (home), changed fuel belts, grabbed a bagel and out I went again. That time for a 10 mile loop.
Some random thoughts and comments:
-
Saw two runners with dog (unusual because I live in the sticks), which was a great ‘pick me up’.
- Jumped into the median several time because cars came to close to me. 😦
-
I know now why a lady took her shoes off before the end of the race at the Flying Pig…I wanted to do the same thing!
-
By the end I was sick of Gatorade and GU and was craving water.
-
Saw two cows trying to make a baby cow. 😮
-
Seeing the hubby’s car coming towards me at mile 20 was great (I thought he was checking up on me). But him telling me that he was heading to the hardware store was priceless! lol My daughter was kind enough to give me her bottle of water. 🙂

Running uphill at mile 21 sucks!
-
In the end walking hurts just as much as running.
-
Soaking feet in cold water after a long run feels soooo good!
I was hoping to run the marathon under 5 hours, but I’ll have to adjust that goal. This years goal is to finish, next years goal is to run faster!
Next weekend I am going up near Cleveland to watch some running friends run in the Towpath Marathon. It should be very inspirational and I am looking forward to the trip!
