I started out low because I am not sure exactly where I am at strength wise (and I didn’t want to over do it). Right now, with my current weight ( just under 180 – yikes! Good thing I am tall!), I have to bench 130 lbs, which I don’t think I’ll be able to do successfully at any time. Back in ’05 I worked myself up to 115 lbs, weighing 160.
During the PnR I benched 110 lbs 7 times.
Bench Press – Pyramid
45 lbs x 12
50 lbs x 10
55 lbs x 8
60 lbs x 6
65 lbs x 4
70 lbs x 2
75 lbs x 1
~~~~
100 lbs x 1 <— wanted to see if I could lift that much lol
The game plan is to do the pyramid once a week and then regular upper body lifting another time during the week. Oh and run 3 times a week. We’ll have to see how it all works out.
Sounds like you’re off to a great start with your weight training. I look forward to reading how that works for you. Have you ever tried the indoor rowing maching? You strengthen every muscle in your body while working you’re cardio vascular system. It’s simply one of the best workouts available.
