Comments: I am not sure if you can call it speed training because when a turtle goes fast it is still slow. 😉 But I’ll never turn into that hare(ess) unless I try. The track at the Y is 1/16th of a mile. I will continue this for another 2 weeks or so and then increase my ‘fast’ running laps to 4.
Time: 5 pm
Workout:
2 laps walking…2 laps slow…1 lap fast…1 lap walking…2 laps fast…1 lap walking…3 laps fast
1 lap walking…2 laps fast…1 lap walking…1 lap fast…2 laps walking…4 laps slow…1 lap walking
Duration: 30 min
Miles: 1.5 miles
Shoes: Saucony

Great job. I am embarking on “hill work” also an attempt to get stronger and faster. 😀 WE SHALL SEE.
I am an inspiration??? Well, thanks, but that feels a little like the time I was introduced as a “dynamic speaker” — a little too much pressure for me. But in reality I love it and I appreciate your comment. I don’t feel inspirational but this stuff does keep me going!! You are an inspiration to me!

In the big scheme of things, every runner has a different body type, different life demands, and different goals. I’ve followed your blog for a while and have seen the progress you’ve made. IMHO, a runner’s worth has nothing to do with how fast or slow they run… It has everything to do with enjoyment and fitness.
Cranky!

I need turtle speed work too! Good job, as usual.
