1 mile & weightlifting

Comments: I spent too much time on the PC last night and didn’t get to bed until late. So with 5 hours of sleep I didn’t want to work out at all. I managed to drag myself downstairs, run on the dreadmill for a mile and then went on to lifting.

4 miles @ work

Comments: I am not sure where my Garmin is! 😦 So I didn’t get the exact time, but according to my iPod I ran about 48 minutes. It was very cold and windy, I think my left eyelid is still frozen somewhat. First they water then they freeze! lol After the first 1/2 mile I changed directions and the headwind was no long there so my face got to melt a bit. 😉

Most of the sidewalks were still snow covered, we got another round of snow overnight, so running was interesting. I don’t mind the snow though, it’s the ice that I don’t like. But overall it was an enjoyable and pretty run.

My side has been acting up again the last two days. 😦 I just got my final bill for the surgery in the mail and decided to add it all up since my first trip to the doctors office the end of December. So far this pain has cost me and the insurance company a combined amount of over $15,000 and I still don’t know what’s wrong. Sickening! Makes me grateful that I have a good job and good health insurance!

Weather: 18, feels like 5

Clothes: Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Gloves, Hat, Jacket

Shoes: Saucony

Distance: 4

Time: about 48 min

Split: about 12 min mile

Course: To Goodale Park, 2 loops and back

7 miles @ home (12:04)

Comments: I didn’t get to see the movie. By the time we stepped out of the restaurant to head to the movie theatre it had started snowing. With living 40 minutes away from the theatre we opted to go home instead and relieve his parents of babysitting duties before the weather got too bad. Hopefully I’ll catch it another time.

The schedule called for 6 miles, but I had 7 set in my mind so that’s what I did. I felt really good all the way through. I forgot how tough the hills are after 3 miles! lol However, it was good to visit them again.

Even though my left foot (bottom) started hurting at mile 5, I am very satisfied with the run. 🙂

Weather: 30’s? Nice

Clothes: Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Gloves, Hat, Jacket

Shoes: Saucony

Distance: 7

Time: 1:24:27

Split: 12:04

Course: Through New Salem and back.

“Spirit of the Marathon”

Tonight I am going to watch the documentary “Spirit of the Marathon” about 6 runners training and running for/in the Chicago marathon, at the movie theater…I am dragging the hubby along…poor guy! 😉 I am hoping for some inspiration for my upcoming 1/2s in April and May.

I am on the fence about the Columbus Marathon in October, but I have till mid-May to decide. I just don’t know if I want to put that much time into training (OMG, I sound like my boss lol). Well, we’ll see.

3 @ work

Comments: Originally I was going to run outside, then thought I’d run inside, but then finally decided that running 3 miles on the treadmill would be utterly boring so outside I went…yes, those mental conversations are painful at times! 😉

The plan now was to run 1.5 out and back. After seeing the sidewalks though, iced over, I opted for my 1 miles “COSI” loop instead. The mile loop was partially salted and I think worked out better than the running/bike path.

I left my Garmin at my desk and for some reason the clock on my ipod ‘froze’ at 10:15, and the digital display at the Vets Memorial wasn’t working, so I have no clue how fast slow I ran! lol I know one thing though, I prefer running in cold weather over warm weather!

Weather: 10 (feells like 0 according to weather.com)

Clothes: Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Gloves, Hat

Shoes: Saucony

Distance: 3

Time: ??? (no Garmin)

Split: ??

Course: COSI loop x 3

5 miles @ home (12:00)

Comments: Good run. I enjoyed it, even though I used to run much faster. About 2 miles in I felt a little tired, but that passed pretty fast. I was trying to send my sister in law good vibes, she was running in the Austin Texas marathon to BQ. (But my good vibes weren’t good enough, she missed it by 12 min, running 3:52 😦 )

Overall I have been feeling pretty good, only minimal pain, nothing like before. 🙂

Weather: Nice, a bit windy (specially on the way back)

Clothes: Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Gloves, Hat

Shoes: Saucony

Distance: 5

Time: 1:00:03

Split: 11:19

Course: To New Salem and back.
