10 @ home (11:54)

Comments: This was a much better run than last weeks 6 miler. I did watch what I ate before-hand and eliminated any heavy foods. The run overall was good, I did not feel exausted at mile 9 (I was worried about that), rather just tired. Saw the hubby and kids around mile 8 coming back from town, he honked and made them wave! That was a lift in itself.

The book I was listening too was very interesting and did a good job of keeping my mind of the running. I did delevop a blister on my right foot in the arch, which became noticable around mile 5. About the same time my left foot/middle toe started to hurt. But neither ever got to the point where I could not continue. Guess I am just getting tougher! haha

Overall the run was not as fast as I had hoped, but I was not totally spent at the end and felt like I could have continued, that’s just what I wanted.

6 miles @ home (11:33)

Comments: They can’t all be great runs, now can they? This one was a bit painful, BUT it was self inflicted in some way. The hubby made these KILLER blueberry pancakes for breakfast…boy, did they sit heavy during the run! Lesson learned: Do not eat too many pancakes before a long run. 🙂

Other than the stomach cramping between mile 2 and 3 the run went fine. It was a beautiful day to run!

4 miles @ work (10:59)

Comments: My youngest daughter has been sick the last few days with strep throat so I have not been able to run. Amazing how getting up all night long to cater to a sick kid can wear you out. But today, back at work, I was about to get out and had a very strong run. I felt strong even during mile 3. Wish they could all be like that.

My boss, who is suppose to be on a skiing trip in Colorado, called. He broke his leg out there, had to undergo surgery and all. Now he is now back at home. I told him that’s one hell of a way to get out of running a 1/2 marathon. lol

8 miles @ home (11:25)

Comments: What a difference a week makes…but then the weather conditions were much better this time around! 😉

I enjoyed the run. It was great getting out. I had been bitchy all weekend long and the long run made it all go away (for the most part at least). After the run I really took the time to stretch. It seems to make me less sore.

Blister, in the arch of my right foot! Urgh…perhaps when I get of my lazy tuff and buy new shoes I should get a few pair of new running socks as well.

4 miles @ work (11:20)

Comments: With the new Garmin in hand I went out. I set it to beep at me every 5 and then 1 minute. Run 5, walk 1. I am pretty sure I can do that with my old Garmin too, but never tried it. Other than it had problems picking up a signal (downtown), like the old one, it worked really well and doesn’t feel as bulky as the other one did. Regular wrist strap or velco strap, I am not sure which one I like better yet. The old Garmin had the velco strap and I miss it. Perhaps that’s only because I am so used to it.

The run overall went well…I only had minor issues with snow, the sun was out, I was listening to a new book (on tape), and I think the new Garmin made me push myself a little bit. I am looking forward to my long run on Saturday/Sunday (not sure which day I’ll do it yet). I’ll try to get some weightlifting in tomorrow, but I have to run to the PO at lunch, so we’ll see.

2 miles @ work treadmill – Weightlifting

Comments: All is good! I think I might have licked the stomach issue. I decided to take some Zantac 75 to see if that would help with my stomach pains. It seems to really have done the trick! I have occasional pains, but NOTHING like I had before. So I am thinking the obgyn issue let me to worry and inflamed my stomach lining. (I have had that before, but nothing close to that painful!) I will continue to montior and the Dr. appointment is still a go.

7 miles @ home (12:28)

Comments: It started snowing Friday morning and pretty much didn’t stop until Saturday evening leaving us with a good 18 to 20 inches of snow. (Our dog Midknight in our backyard on Saturday afternoon)

On Sunday the sun came out and I headed out hoping that the roads wouldn’t be too bad.

I ran into the ‘friendly’ neighborhood dog. He came charging at me from his house. I saw the owner and thought “Sweet, I won’t have to worry”. BUT the owner yells at his dog once and gets into his car. Of course the dog did not stop barking and following me (in the road) until I was past his property. Oh, I was so pissed and flabbergasted that someone could be so irresponsible!

Other than that the run in itself was good. The snow made it a challange and so did the snow plows, but the sun was out and it was sooo pretty! I don’t think I have ever seen so many people out since I started running that route. Everyone was busy shoveling all that snow. Nice!

Even though the run was slower than I had hoped, I enjoyed it and made it home without breaking, straining, or pulling anything! 🙂

3.9 miles @ work (11:37)

Comments: Even though some of the sidewalks were pretty slushy/frozen it was a good run overall.

Went to the doctor, who is a nerve/skeleton/muscular specialist. He could not see anything wrong with me (no pulled muscles) and his exact words were “Your pain lies deeper than muscles.” So he reffered me to a gastrologist. They will call me after they set up the appointment. I had a pretty bad afternoon yesterday, pain wise. I hope that I will stay moderatly pain free today.
