Comments: We are going on vacation tomorrow to go quadding (riding 4 wheelers) at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan. Unlike last year where we stayed at a hotel, this year we are staying at a friend’s cabin about 1/2 an hour away from the dunes. Originally our friends were going to stay with us, but life got in the way and now it’s just the hubby and I until Thursday.
Thursday my parent’s in law and our youngest daughter are coming up to join us until Sunday. It should be a lot of fun!
So, with that said….I ran my long run today, being that we will be stuck traveling in the SUV most of the day.
Overall I had a great run, other than the neighbors’ dog chasing me. I tried to be friendly, but learned (once again) that it doesn’t work for that dog so I just stood there until he lost interest in me and started to wander off, still barking. I was trying for the rest of the run to push negative thoughts about that dog and its no good owner out of my head. Luckily I did not encounter him nor the neighbor on the way back. The dog had wandered too far into their back yard to be a threat to me. Thank goodness.
Like I said, I had an overall good run: I ran three miles straight and then walked for just a little bit every mile after. It worked out well considering at mile 2.5 it’s uphill for 3/4 of a mile. But I know it’s only making stronger and in turn faster.
I am not sure what the roads will be like up north, but I’ll make an effort to get a couple runs in.
I AM SO READY FOR THIS VACATION
