Comments: My legs felt heavy and my joints stiff. The first mile was painful, my calves felt really really right. I’ll need to run “the stick” over them tonight because they are still tight.

It was overcast and drizzling on and off outside and it was actually a bit chilly. Kinda nice! Ran the 4 miles straight, no stopping.

My Garmin Forerunner 205, after I start sweating, starts sliding up and down my wrist and usually rubs against the wrist bone. Adjusting the band does not help (I miss the velco the 201 had). I think I have remedied this situation by buying¬†a wrist sweat band that I now wear under the watch. The watch can’t slide and my wrist bone stays unbruised.

My shoes only have 150 miles on them and they are already wearing off in the heal area. *sigh*

Week 2 РDay 3: 6 x 6 x 5 x 5 x 10 (Did them in the evening…No power (electric) in the house so I did what I THOUGHT I had to do, which turned out to be 5, 5, 4, 4, 6+)

Comments: Slower than I had hoped, but I was not dead at the end. Food pain under the left foot starting at mile 4. GUed at mile 4 and 8. Drank every 2 miles.

I think that I need to overcome the physiological hurdle that prevents me from running faster when running long distances. It’s like something keeps me slow so I don’t die at the end….frustrating

Comments: I was listening to the book “The Broken Window” by Jeffrey Deaver and playing Solitare on my Palm Pilot, trying to remind myself to peddle harder lol.

6 – Long Run (11:31) & Push Ups

Comments: Slow but good run. Did not run with the group today and my speed shows it, but I felt good during the last mile.

I messed up and didn’t hit start on my Garmin and missed the first 0.94 miles of the run. So I used the average of the 5.06 to come up with a total running time.

Time: 8:30 am

4.84 elliptical miles, weightlifting

Comment: The swelling of my legs is non-existent at this time. To think last week they were giving me so much trouble is hard to believe.

My goal for the elliptical rider was to keep my RPMs up at 70. I also increased the level of intensity from 2 to 3.

I found the Hundred Push Up Challenge on Joe’s (Learning to Run) website and started today after my cardio workout. OMG…I was only able to do two!!! About 3 years ago I could do 20 without breaking a sweat. I am going to be sore tomorrow!

Comments: I wish I could feel this strong every time I run. The weather was great and I felt l was one with my shoes. That doesn’t happen too often.
