Comments: This run was better than yesterday’s, but only because I had no side sitches. I felt strong. Instead of playing the “run to there game” and then walk, I played the “let’s run to there faster” game. It worked, because this is my fastes 4 miler since I have been writing down my times religiously (since 1/9/2007). I know I used to run faster than this (9:30 min/miles); in 2005. But for now I am excited.

Certainly the cooler temperatures have something to do with this, but I would also like to think that all this strength training has helped too.

While in the gym after my run, I first stretched and then did some tricep bench dips. Instead of using one bench though I placed my feet on another bench. I did 2 sets of 20. It kicked my butt, or triceps rather. After I got up one of the regular guys made a comment.

JJ: I only see a few women who do the bench dip that way. It’s not easy.

Me: Yeah, I have big triceps.

In hindsight I should have just said “thank you” lol. I think that all those pushups that I have been doing really helped re-develop my tries. I am going to stop the Push-Up Challange though. I feel I need to concentrate on my upper body weight workout (all around) instead of trying to get to 100 push ups. The program is great though and I recommend it to anyone.
