Last “long run”

The last long run went so so. It was hotter than usual, I had not eaten well the night before, and because it was only 6 miles I chose not to bring anything with me. Of course I felt all of that during the run.  The new shoes, are not the greatest invention on earth and they don’t cure my feet from aching. But they have a bigger shoe box, that should help (some). So now, here I am, 2 weeks after a solid 12 miler, wondering because I didn’t have a good 6 miler, if I am going to be able to run a good half marathon. *sigh*

Tomorrow I plan on looking at my schedule to see what I did the week before the 12 miler and plan on repeating that this coming week. I also need to get my music in order. More than once did I skip a song because I just didn’t want to hear it while I was running.

100 Push-up Challenge: I did do my push-ups last night. I got to a total of 53; two days before that I managed 49.

4 @ home (10:48) & Push Ups

Comments: Good run, negtative split. Met a new dog on the run. “Buddy”, who is really friendly, but doesn’t listen to his owner very well. I stopped my watch around mile 2.5 to greet him properly.

I did have side pains I had to work through starting at mile 1 through mile 3. 😦

Time: 7:30PM

Weather: 70’s, dusk nice

Clothes: MiT Shirt, Adidas shorts

Shoes: Saucony ProGrid (277.2 miles)

Exhaustion: 21

How dissapointing. Next time I’ll make sure I was on the stationary bike for 10 minutes as a warm up.

Biking & Push Ups

Comments: Watched “The Pelican Brief” while peddleing, which took my mind of the workout. I am a single mom this week so I didn’t want to push my luck with riding in the basement for too long and come back upstairs to WW III. Also with my calf still being a bit sore I didn’t want to over do it.

Time: 6:30pm

Distance: 8 miles

Time: 45 min

Course: Stationary Bike

~~~
Pushups:
Week 3 – Day 3: 20 x 15 x 15 x 12 x 19
My gosh, what great improvement. I am moving into week 4 and I am looking forward to it. I’ll have to really concentrate on using less time between each set after week 4
Check out how I was doing back on June 23rd: Week 2 – Day 1: 4 x 4 x 3 x 3 x 6 (I felt weak today)
It’s been slow progress, but I feel so much stronger in my upper body and all around!
Push Ups
Week 3 – Day 2: 16 x 14 x 14 x 12 x 21 (77 total)
I am surprised that I was able to do push ups at all, with the calf hurting. But it didn’t hurt while I was doing them.
